Alberta Blue Energy is a non-partisan, not-for-profit website documenting the progress of western Canada’s oil and gas industry helping to achieve Canada’s Net Zero goal by producing low GHG-intensity energy products with CCS technology.

Scott Sarjeant, Chief Organizer

Scott has been involved in the Canadian energy industry for over 40 years. He was a co-founder of AltaGas, a major Canadian midstream company where he was in charge of many functions, including acquisitions, corporate development, and marketing gas, NGL and electricity. Scott also gained experience from working in Canadian exploration and production companies, service companies, as well as in the corporate finance industry. Educational accomplishments include an MBA from the Ivey Business School.

Scott is a resident of Alberta that is proud to be a Canadian. He grew up in Ontario, and raised his children in Alberta. He is excited that the Canadian government is now focused on making Canada a world leader in both clean and conventional energy.
